PC018 Political Contessa Policy, Politics, and Advocacy Through the Lense of Parkinson's Disease with Matt Keswick

Matt Keswick is one of my best friends of over 20 years. He is the president of Keswick Consulting, a Boston-based government relations and business development firm dedicated to helping organizations achieve maximum results when pursuing public policy objectives. Prior to founding Keswick Consulting, Matt worked for three Massachusetts governors, where he held several high-ranking personnel and policy positions. As Deputy Chief Secretary, he was responsible for overseeing over 2500 political appointments and several hundred boards and commissions, including many regulatory authorities. As result, he has forged many strong business and political relationships that endure to this day, me being one of them.

Today, Matt joins me to talk about his journey with Parkinson’s Disease, how he has reacted to his diagnosis, and the steps he’s taking to raise awareness. We talk about the intersectionality of politics and wellbeing, he shares the two ways you can react to bad news, and he discusses how his diagnosis has affected his work-life balance and shifted his priorities. He talks about the Fox Foundation, the work he’s done, and the need to bridge political gaps and come together for a common cause.

“This isn’t about political fundraising. It’s about people.”

- Matt Keswick
