Loring Barnes is an industry-recognized communications expert and a candidate for state representative, 8th Middlesex District, Massachusetts. She also serves as a consultant at Bryant University School of Health and Behavioral Sciences and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Individualized Concentration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Loring joins me today to discuss what it’s like to take the leap of faith from the business world into public office. She explains why she decided to run for the Middlesex 8th District. She describes why her background and acumen in business is her strongest calling card and how voters perceive her experience as a business person. She also offers advice on dealing with trolls and underscores why authenticity and intuition are important to any woman running for public office.
“Don’t sit on the sidelines. It’s much harder to put your heart, time, talent, ideas, and reputation on the line by stepping into the arena—and it’s also much more fulfilling.” - Loring Barnes
