PC074 - Are Massachusetts Democrats High? Proposed New Laws Threaten to Make Our Roads More Dangerous
As a parent, I do everything I can to keep my children safe, but Massachusetts lawmakers have proposed irresponsible, irrational new laws legalizing hallucinogenic drugs and no way to punish drivers under the influence of these drugs, making it even scarier to turn over the keys to my newly licensed 16-year-old daughter. I’ve taught her well, and I know she is a very safe driver, but being a defensive driver can’t protect you from a reckless driver getting high and hitting the road. Recreational marijuana is already legal, and the number of accidents due to impaired drivers has doubled in 20 years.
Today, I highlight the grim reality of more dangerous roads and increased car accidents due to impaired drivers that Democratic lawmakers ignore by even considering legalizing hallucinogens. I discuss a parent’s role in educating their children about drug use and why parents need to have difficult conversations with their children. I point out some of the existing, common sense road safety rules that we already have in place in response to alcohol and smartphones and how we can apply them to recreational marijuana. And I also explain how you can get involved and get your lawmakers to vote against legalizing magic mushrooms.
“The reason magic mushrooms are illegal is because we don't want to kill people. We don't want to injure people. We don't want more car accidents.” - Jennifer Nassour
