PC007 Political Contessa Kids and COVID
Every parent knows the indignation that arises when a stranger comes up to them and offers unsolicited parenting advice. In 2021, the frequency of these occurrences has skyrocketed, because every stranger has an opinion about how you should protect your kids from COVID-19.
Today, I talk about why COVID response decisions should be a personal choice. I note the rareness of childhood cases of COVID, and I explain why parents are the best people to decide whether to vaccinate their kids. I share statistics onCOVID cases among children, and I shed light on the hypocrisy that tends to surround these conversations. Finally, I note that youshouldn’’t tell a person how to live their life unless you’re ready to walk in their shoes.
“I appreciate everything you do to protect your family, and I think that you are the smartest person to make those decisions for your family. Not the government, not a stranger who doesn’t live in your walls.”-Jennifer Nassour
