PC009 Political Contessa Community

What do you think of when you hear the word “community”? What about “organizing”? In this episode, I talk about community organizing, the first key to being truly involved in politics.

Today, I talk about the power of community organizing. I explain what it is and I note that many women already do it without even noticing. I share the story of a small experiment I conducted to test this theory, and I stress the necessity of being involved in your community if you're looking to run for office. I note that you can only know the local issues that need to be fixed ifyou’’re community organizing.

“If you’re looking to run for office or get on a commission, you need to be active in your community. You need to know the people around you.”-Jennifer Nassour
