C065 - The Mid-Term Shit Show of 2022

The 2022 Primary Elections have finally come to a close. This election year was predicted to be a Red Wave year for Republicans. But, in reality – it turned out to be a red deflated balloon. How did the Republican party start off so strong in the early campaigning days, only to end in massive defeat across the country?

In today’s episode, I discuss what I believe caused the Republican Party to so many elected seats this year during the primaries. I explain why we need to elect candidates from both parties instead of allowing one party to have the majority control and discuss what happens when we see polarization within the political parties. I discuss how our poor messaging, messengers, and the Trump Derangement Syndrome impacted the Republican Party’s ability to have more seats and what I believe we could have done differently to change the outcome. I also discuss why our country needs more serious people running for office and why the Republican Party needs to reconnect with our core principles.

“We live in a land of democracy. We have two parties. In the two parties, we have polarization. In that polarization, we see what happened this year.” - Jennifer Nassour
